Ahmad Washington, Speaker
Ahmad resides in Waco Texas. He received a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University in Social Work and a Masters in Social Work and an Master of Divinity from Truett Seminary. He is an excellent communicator and minister. He is also a part of a Hip-Hop Gospel group called F.L.O.W. (Faithful Lyricists ofda Word) Ahmad has been prayerfully preparing his heart and his messages for the Matthew 25 Project. His desire is to encourage and challenge those students who have come to serve God faithfully in Kansas City.
Mitch McCaskell, Worship Leader
Mitch is currently the lead worshipper in the college ministry at First Baptist Church Clinton, Mississippi. He is a senior Christian Studies major at Mississippi College. He has been leading worship for similar projects all across the country for the past four summers. He is excited about what the Lord has in store for the Matthew 25 Project in Kansas City - all glory to God!
DeWayne Bright, Neigborhood Agency Representative
DeWayne Bright is a native of Kansas City. He currently
serves as the Minister of Youth for the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church
under the Pastor Dr. Wallace S. Hartsfield, II.
In this capacity DeWayne is entrusted with the spiritual, emotional, and
physical development of Metropolitan’s youth ranging from the nursery through
college, which includes the guidance of more than thirty volunteer staff. DeWayne is employed by the Local Investment
Commission (LINC) as the Site Coordinator for the Palestine Neighborhood Caring
Communities where he works closely with area residents to improve the quality
of life in Kansas City. DeWayne also serves on the Jackson County Disproportionate
Minority Confinement Committee (DMC) which focuses on the crisis of the
disproportional number of minorities detained in the criminal justice systems
and seeks positive solutions to alleviate the concern.
What he truly wishes people to know is that he is first an eager servant of Jesus Christ and the husband of a wonderful wife and the father of three beautiful children. He is very excited about the opportunities that will result from the Matthew 25 Project this summer.
Jeff Buscher, Project Coordinator
Jeff is in his fourth year as Campus Minister at William Jewell College. He has spent more than 20 years serving students on the local church level and organizing and coordinating missions and service trips for student groups. His commitment and creative abilities have led to this experience, where a wide cross section of students will put their faith into action through worship, service & reflection. This event promises to be more than just another mission trip. Jeff says that we have truly assembled an amazing team for this year's Matthew 25 Project and we hope that we have 200 - 300 participants to help share Christ's love in Kansas City.
Bethany Brown, Matt 25 Office Manager
Bethany will graduate from William Jewell in May with her elementary education degree. Bethany says, "I am a proud, card-carrying Christian." She is also completing her minor in Non-profit Leadership, and her American Humanics certification. She has served this year as the president of the Black Student Association on campus. Bethany enjoy s working with people, both young and old, and is looking forward to making a difference through the Matthew 25 Project.
Jim Griffey, Construction Coordinator
addition to his career as a firefighter, Jim is also a Master plumber and general contractor. Jim grew up in the area and has lived in this most of his life. He is a member of Liberty Manor Baptist Church and enjoys sailing the Caribbean in his sailboat. Jim is a part of our team because he wants to help residents and students have a great experience sharing the love of Christ.
Ken Carroll, Health Services Coordinator
Ken, a 2006 Jewell graduate, is now a registered nurse, working in the surgical ICU at Kansas City's VA Medical Center. Prior to his studies Ken was a Navy Corpsman serving the Marines for three years . In that role Ken dealt with issues ranging from minor cuts to gunshot wounds, and has served in clinics and on an ambulance crew. Ken's role will be to assist with safety issues, instruct each crew's "Medic," and to address any first aid needs that arise during the course of the week. Ken is really looking forward to the Matthew 25 Project because he feels like this is a great way to have a positive impact in our community.
Charles is a first year student at William Jewell College and I am majoring in Music Composition. His dream is to travel the world leading worship and bringing lost souls to Christ. It is in Him that I live and breathe. Without Him I am nothing! I’m excited about the Matthew 25 Project because I think it will be an awesome opportunity to bring unity within the body of Christ among our participants and in the Kansas City area. God has great things in store for this event!
Tim Herset, Matthew 25 Video Producer
Tim was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana and is a sophomore at Montana State in Bozeman, spending this semester in Golden, British Columbia filming and editing ski footage for a ministry call Skiers and Snowboarders for Christ. Tim's enthusiastic flair for life translates into his favorite medium, film. He has filmed, edited and produced numerous ski and adventure video's. In the Spring of 2006 one of Tim's films won 1st place at the Coldsmoke Film festival. At the Matthew 25 Project Tim will be capturing footage during your arrival, at the worksites, at worship, and building daily clips for Worship, as well as a take home DVD to share with your church families. Tim is so excited about being a part of the Matthew 25 project that... well, lets just say that it is pushing the limits of his bodily functions. (not exactly his words) And he is looking forward to what God is going to do through all of us during the week.
